    250mm Circular Saw Blades

Saxton Blades offers 250mm circular saw blades engineered for the demands of large-format mitre saws, sliding compound saws, and high-capacity site equipment. Our 250mm Circular Saw Blades Collection includes 60-tooth and 100-tooth options, covering everything from fast structural ripping to ultra-fine finish work on hardwood, laminate, and composite panels.

    250mm Circular Saw Blades

250mm blades are mostly used in stationary or sliding mitre saws, not handheld circular saws. This means that blade stiffness and plate flatness are especially important. The hardened steel plate on these blades is adjusted during manufacturing to ensure the blade cuts accurately without bending out of position when cutting at an angle. Tungsten carbide tips are attached to the plate at high temperature, and the tooth shape — either alternate top bevel (ATB) on the 100T or a modified ATB on the 60T — is ground very precisely to make sure that the cut is always consistent and that the surface of the workpiece is always clean.

The slots in the blade body allow the steel to expand safely as it heats during prolonged cutting, and they also stop the blade from vibrating too much and making marks on the surface it’s cutting on. This makes the saw quieter, reduces hand-arm vibration and allows for a more controlled cut.

FAQs About About 250mm Circular Saw Blades

Why does the 250mm range use 60T and 100T rather than the 40T and 80T found on smaller blades?

Tooth count is always relative to blade diameter. On a smaller 190mm or 216mm blade, 40 teeth produce a reasonable tooth pitch (the distance between tips) for general-purpose work.

What saws are 250mm circular saw blades designed for?

These blades are primarily designed for stationary and sliding compound mitre saws with a 250mm (10 inch) blade capacity. Common compatible machines include sliding mitre saws from DeWalt, Bosch, Makita, Festool, and Metabo. They are not typically used in handheld circular saws, which generally top out at 235mm. Always verify your saw’s blade diameter and arbor bore before fitting.

What are tungsten carbide teeth and why do they matter?

Tungsten carbide teeth are harder and more wear-resistant than standard steel, making them an excellent choice for heavy-duty use. These teeth are designed to stay sharp for longer, so you can rely on consistent cutting performance across both professional and personal applications.

What cutting depth does a 250mm circular saw blade give me?

On a typical 250mm sliding mitre saw, you can expect a cutting depth of approximately 85–90mm at 90 degrees, and around 60–65mm at 45 degrees, though the precise figure depends on your saw’s geometry and guard clearance. This makes 250mm blades well suited to large-section structural timber, stair components, glulam, and thick engineered panels — cuts that would be impossible or require multiple passes with smaller-diameter blades.

Is the 60T better for hardwood or softwood?

The 60T handles both, but it excels in softwood, rough-sawn timber, OSB, and general construction materials where cutting speed is the priority. In hardwood, the 60T will still produce a good result, but if your finish requirement is high — particularly on exposed cross-grain faces — the 100T will deliver a noticeably cleaner surface with less sanding required afterwards.
